What SASSA SRD Status Messages Mean

By AccessSA Editorial Team · Updated 17 September 2026

An SRD result can change as SASSA verifies information for a particular application period. Always rely on the exact wording and instructions shown in your official status result.

Common types of results

Pending

The application or a particular period is still being checked. Pending does not necessarily mean declined. Continue checking the official portal and avoid submitting duplicate applications unless SASSA instructs you to do so.

Approved

The application period has been approved. A payment date or payment arrangement may appear separately. Confirm that your payment or banking information is correct through the official channel.

Approved with no payment date

Approval and payment scheduling are separate stages. Keep checking the official status and ensure that verification or payment information is complete. Do not pay anyone who promises to create a payment date.

Declined

The result should include or relate to a reason. Read it carefully before taking action. If you disagree, follow the official appeal process for the affected period and submit accurate information.

Identity or verification problem

The information used for the application may not match the information used during verification. Follow the official instructions. Do not send identity documents to an unverified WhatsApp number or social-media account.

Banking or payment verification

SASSA may still be checking payment information. Use only the official banking-details service and ensure that the information belongs to the applicant as required by SASSA.

Referred or further checks required

The application may require additional review. Follow only the instructions displayed on the official portal or communicated through verified SASSA channels.

Important: Status descriptions and processes can change. AccessSA cannot interpret a result as a guarantee of eligibility or payment. Check the exact official result for the relevant period.

What to record

When to appeal

Appeal when the official result is declined and you believe the decision is incorrect. Use the appeal link supplied by SASSA and act within the official period. An appeal may need to be lodged for each declined month.
